As of July 1, 2025, your money at a bank, savings fund, or credit union in Curaçao is protected by the Deposit Guarantee Scheme (DGS).
This means that if a covered institution in Curaçao goes bankrupt, your deposits are automatically and legally protected by the DGS:
- Up to Cg 50,000 at banks and savings funds
- Up to Cg 25,000 at credit unions
The DGS ensures confidence and stability in our financial system, giving you peace of mind that your savings are safe.
